Breaking Barriers: Lillian Guerrein’s Journey in Engineering

In our latest Women We Work With interview, we’re honored to feature Lillian Guerrein, a Control Systems Engineer at Actemium.
At Actemium, we’re proud to celebrate the diverse voices that drive our success, and few embody resilience and innovation like Lillian Guerrein. As a control systems engineer, Lillian designs, programs, and commissions industrial systems while troubleshooting critical issues for customers. Her role is demanding, but her passion for learning and problem-solving keeps her motivated every step of the way.
Lillian’s journey into engineering began in the Marine Corps, where she served as an Aviation Electrician working on flight controls and generator converter units. Over time, her curiosity led her to explore the world of industrial controls, a field she describes as ubiquitous across industries and brimming with opportunities. Armed with her experience in electronics and a determination to learn, she transitioned to a strictly controls-focused role at Actemium, where she has thrived ever since.
Despite the challenges of working in a male-dominated industry, Lillian remains steadfast. She attributes her success to continuous learning, unwavering confidence, and a willingness to let her work speak for itself. Whether it’s addressing workplace inconveniences or supporting fellow women in engineering, Lillian exemplifies leadership through action. Her story is not just one of personal achievement but also a call to foster inclusivity and create pathways for more women to excel in technical fields.
We’re inspired by Lillian’s journey and grateful for her contributions to Actemium. Her story reminds us that with passion and perseverance, barriers can be overcome, and new possibilities can emerge.
