SUMMARY & OBJECTIVE

The Senior Business Development Manager serves as a crucial link between the client and the Business Unit. The role entails various key responsibilities including identifying new business prospects, managing, conducting personal sales activities, and fostering new business connections.

This opportunity is very hands on, and the employee will be accountable for new business generation and related activities. This candidate MUST have Engineering or similar background and have worked in system Integration.

We are seeking a team member who is highly engaged through personal sales and networking to increase engineering services business.  Additional activities will include collaborating from the initiation of a project up to ongoing after sales services and maintenance services.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Identify and engage key decision-makers within potential client organizations.
  • Qualify potential new clients and assist in conversion into new business.
  • Maintain and expand positive business relationships with clients.
  • Manage the commercial process with clients and organize the internal process of quotes and service delivery with team, including the necessary authorization process for approval of a contract.
  • Manage the contract during the complete execution of the project up to the receipt of the last payment of the client.
  • Support the Business Unit General Manager in developing the business unit strategy.
  • Work closely with the Business Unit Manager and team to take ownership of a region’s success in the marketplace, with a driving passion to grow revenue in a profitable way.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge about industrial automation.
  • Experience or strong knowledge of industrial automation, systems integration, or engineering processes.
  • Strong engagement and entrepreneurial spirit towards clients while maintaining the company operating standards.
  • Creative Problem Solving: Recognize and evaluate problems, identifying potential solutions, organizing.
  • Negotiations: Consultative solution selling. Respectful and thoughtful communication ability to decline opportunities that are not mutually beneficial.
  • Contracts: Strong understanding of the client company terms & conditions.
  • High Ethical Standards: Having a strong sense of business ethics
  • At least 10 years experience in sales and business development in an engineering/ technical service industry.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering and related sales experience in technical/engineering and integrated systems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position is exempt and has no supervisory responsibilities.
