SUMMARY & OBJECTIVE

The Junior Business Development Manager supports the link between the client and the Business Unit. The role includes identifying new business prospects, managing personal sales activities, and fostering new business connections. This is a “hands-on” role, with an emphasis on learning and contributing to new business generation. We are looking for a proactive team member, passionate about leveraging networking and conducting personal sales activity to support the growth of engineering business services. Additional responsibilities and activities include collaborating from project initiation to ongoing after-sales and maintenance services.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Identify and engage key decision-makers within potential client organizations.
  • Qualify potential new clients and assist in conversion into new business.
  • Maintain and expand positive business relationships with clients.
  • Assist in managing client commercial processes, including quotes, service delivery, and contract approvals.
  • Support the management of contracts throughout the project lifecycle, including after-sales services and final payment collection.
  • Contribute to shaping the business unit strategy alongside the General Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Business Unit Manager and team to drive regional revenue growth profitably.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Basic understanding or strong interest in industrial automation or systems integration.
  • Demonstrates strong engagement and entrepreneurial spirit towards clients while maintaining company standards.
  • Creative Problem Solving: Recognize and evaluate problems, identifying potential solutions, and organizing resources effectively.
  • Negotiations: Consultative solution selling with respectful and thoughtful communication, and the ability to decline opportunities that are not mutually beneficial.
  • Contracts: Basic understanding of client company terms & conditions.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of business ethics.
  • At least 2-5 years sales and business development experience in the service industry.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience in a service industry closely relating to engineering/technical sales.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position is exempt and has no supervisory responsibilities.

COMPENSATION:

Generous competitive base salary and commission depending on experience.
